Kappa Kappa Gamma Charitable Foundation of Houston Awards The Rose with Grant to Replace Original Mobile Mammography Van

Houston, TX, –  April 16, 2015 – On Wednesday April 15, The Rose was the recipient of a grant from the Kappa Kappa Gamma Charitable Foundation of Houston. The grant in the amount of $45,450 will be used towards replacing the original mobile mammography van. Since 2009, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Charitable Foundation of Houston has awarded grants to The Rose.

The Mobile Mammography Van travels throughout 35 Texas counties to provide breast cancer screenings to insured and uninsured women. The mobile team provides quality breast health care to thousands of women annually who otherwise might delay or skip a screening because of barriers such as distance and finances. The Kappa Kappa Gamma Charitable Foundation’s support will help the program by providing the funds to replace the original mammography van.

“Our Mobile Mammography Vans have helped save countless lives” said Dorothy Gibbons, CEO and Co-Founder of The Rose, “They are an integral part of our mission to detect breast cancer through early screenings. We are honored to receive this grant from the Kappa Kappa Gamma Charitable Foundation to help us continue to save the lives of thousands of women no matter their economical situation.”

The Kappa Kappa Gamma Charitable Foundation of Houston has been an avid supporter of Houston Charities since 1980. As the requests for grants grow so does the amount awarded. The grants are used by recipients to replace old equipment, improve facilities, and create scholarships and programs.
