Seasoned nonprofit leader to guide the next chapter of growth and impact
HOUSTON, TX, April 30, 2026 – The Rose, a leading Southeast Texas nonprofit breast health organization, has named Angela Lane, CFRE, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Lane will officially assume the role on May 18, bringing nearly three decades of nonprofit leadership experience to the organization as it continues to expand access to lifesaving breast health services.
“After a thoughtful and thorough search, the Board is confident that Angie’s leadership and experience will guide The Rose into its next chapter,” said Shannon Beirne Wiesedeppe, Chair of the Board of Directors for The Rose. “She brings a deep understanding of mission-driven work and a strong ability to build relationships that advance meaningful impact across our community.”
As CEO, Lane will lead The Rose in advancing its mission to save lives through access to high-quality breast health services, including screening, diagnostics, and navigation into treatment for all women, regardless of their ability to pay.
“I am deeply honored to follow in the footsteps of Dorothy Gibbons, whose vision and compassion built The Rose into a lifeline for so many women,” said Lane. “I am eager to carry that legacy forward alongside the team, our partners, and supporters to make breast care accessible to even more women in Southeast Texas – especially for those who might not otherwise receive the lifesaving care and support they deserve.”
Lane most recently served as Chief Development Officer at Houston Ballet, where she more than doubled revenue and strengthened the organization’s fundraising capacity. Her leadership helped earn Houston Ballet the 2021 Outstanding Fundraising Program Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Houston Chapter.
Throughout her career, Lane has held leadership roles with Houston Grand Opera, the American Red Cross, and Girls Inc., building a reputation for collaborative leadership and organizational growth. She holds master’s degrees from American University and Indiana University and serves as an instructor at Rice University’s Glasscock School of Continuing Studies.
Lane, a longtime Houston resident, lives in the area with her family and is the proud mother of two teenagers.
