[Houston, TX, April 7, 2017]–On April 20, 2017, The Rose will host its Fifth Annual A Time to Care Luncheon, sponsored by Comerica, from 11am to 1pm at the Junior League of Houston (811 Briar Oaks Ln). The annual luncheon celebrates the time and care that The Rose and Houston women have dedicated to personal health and their own community. Chairing the event this year is Myrleen Knott, Co-owner and Vice President of Buffalo Flange, Inc.
“Women are the pillars of our community and more often than not, the backbone of the family,” said Dorothy Gibbons, CEO and Co-Founder of The Rose. “The purpose of our luncheon is to celebrate them by taking out the time to acknowledge how important self care is, in addition to helping them gain useful insight for both their personal and professional lives.”
The topic of the luncheon, “Four Strategies for Career Success and Satisfaction,” will be presented by the highly sought after speaker Eva Archer-Smith, who has worked with top leaders and CEO’s of various world organizations. Smith is a local Houstonian and an acclaimed leader, facilitator and public speaker.
“The demands on our time and energy have escalated, and the only thing that doesn’t seem to have changed is the amount of hours in a day!” said Smith. “As women, it is imperative that we are not only physically well but also mentally.”
Funds raised at the event benefit The Rose and their annual programming. The Rose is Southeast Texas’ leader in breast healthcare and recently reported sponsoring more than 10,307 uninsured mammograms in 2016. The organization’s services provide women with screenings, diagnostics and access to treatment, regardless of their insurance or ability to pay.
