HOUSTON, TX, February 03, 2026 – The Montgomery County Community Foundation has awarded The Rose a $7,500 grant to provide breast cancer screening, diagnostics, and navigation into treatment services for women in Montgomery County. The grant comes at a critical time as The Rose continues to see an increase in younger patients being diagnosed. Eight women in the county were diagnosed with breast cancer through The Rose last year, including one who was just 32 years old.
The Montgomery County Community Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of The Rose since 2018, helping to ensure thousands of women receive the care they need, regardless of their insurance status. This most recent grant builds on that legacy of impact.
“This grant allows us to reach women in Montgomery County with timely screenings and follow-up care that can truly change outcomes,” said Jessica Duckworth, Chief Operating Officer of The Rose. “The Montgomery County Community Foundation is committed to women’s health, and their support helps us strengthen access to breast health services in a region where the need continues to grow.”
In 2025, The Rose provided sponsored services to 320 uninsured women in Montgomery County. All patients who were diagnosed received immediate support from a patient navigator to connect them with follow-up care and treatment. Another 547 insured patients were also seen in the county and thanks to The Rose’s unique 3-for-1 model, revenue from insured appointments helped cover the cost of care for uninsured women.
The Rose offers 3D screenings, diagnostics, breast MRI, genetic counseling, mobile mammography services, and navigation into treatment to women in 45 Southeast Texas counties. To schedule a screening or learn more, visit www.therose.org or call 281-484-4708.
