LWI Presents $12,000 Check to The Rose

Houston — Latin Women’s Initiative (LWI) recently held its annual membership drive and
community grant presentation event at the beautiful home of Lucia and Michael Cordúa.  Six local charities received checks for $12,000 each during LWI’s exclusive cocktail event.

Charities receiving grants from LWI include: The Rose, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, Memorial Assistance Ministries (MAM), Casa de Esperanza, LIFE Houston and Kids Meals. Representatives from each organization met current and new LWI members, and received the grant checks from LWI president, Rosi Hernandez and Community Service Chairs, Sally Lechin and Marianellys Noble.

LWI currently maintains nearly 150 members and continues to grow each year.  The annual membership event raises awareness for the various events LWI presents each year to raise funds and benefit the community.  Individual memberships begin at $50, and allow access to exclusive special events, and volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
