Houston, TX (March 19, 2026) – The T.L.L. Temple Foundation has awarded The Rose a $75,000 grant to support The Rose’s East Texas Mobile Mammography Center in Lufkin. This generous gift helps remove the barriers to breast care many women in East Texas face, including cost-prohibitive services and distance to an imaging center.
The Foundation has been an integral partner of The Rose’s Mobile Mammography Program since 2017, financially supporting the purchase of “Rosie,” the name affectionately given to The Rose’s first mobile coach. The Rose now boasts the largest fleet of mobile mammography coaches in Texas by volume and distance covered, with five coaches serving 45 Southeast Texas counties.
Thanks to this sustained partnership, thousands of women across rural East Texas have received lifesaving breast cancer screenings they may not have otherwise accessed.
“We are so appreciative of the Foundation’s support for the past nine years,” said Dorothy Gibbons, Co-Founder of The Rose. “This grant will ensure the East Texas Mobile Mammography Center and mobile coaches continue to be available for the uninsured and underinsured women of East Texas, making early detection possible for every woman, regardless of ability to pay or zip code.”
The Rose offers patients 3D screenings, diagnostics, breast MRI, genetic counseling, mobile mammography services, and navigation into treatment. To schedule a screening or learn more, visit www.therose.org or call 281-484-4708.
