Houston, TX [August 13, 2018] – With an award of $55,000 from The George Foundation, The Rose will now have funds available to support timely and affordable breast healthcare services in Fort Bend County. Uninsured and underinsured patients will be eligible to apply for sponsored mammograms and diagnostic care through The Rose’s Empower Her® Sponsorship Program regardless of their ability to pay.
The George Foundation Trustees and Staff serve the residents of Fort Bend County by aligning the Foundation’s vision with that of founders Albert and Mamie George. The Foundation’s grant furthers the mission to partner with the community to leverage the Foundation’s resources and positively impact Fort Bend County and its residents. Grants are made in pursuit of the vision of a thriving nonprofit sector that addresses critical community needs, enhances the quality of life and provides opportunities for Fort Bend County residents.

Services will be provided at one of two centers as well as through The Rose’s Mobile Mammography Program offering state-of-art 3D mammography imaging. To qualify for sponsored services, individuals must be a Fort Bend County resident, uninsured or underinsured, and provide documentation of a net household family income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines ($48,600 for a family of four).
