Houston, TX, March 2, 2020 – The staff, students and parents of Mitchell Intermediate School will hold the 13th Annual Paint the Path Pink event on Saturday, March 28 beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Paint the Path Pink began in 2007 and was inspired by two teachers whose wives were diagnosed with breast cancer at the same time. The event features an auction and 5K run, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting The Rose, a nonprofit breast health organization serving Houston and the surrounding 40 counties, including Montgomery County.
Since 2018, Mitchell Intermediate School has partnered with The Rose on this event, raising just over $50,000 to date. The school’s goal fundraising goal for 2020 is $15,000.
“We all have a friend, relative, teacher or loved one who has been affected by breast cancer,” said Dorothy Gibbons, CEO and Co-Founder of The Rose. “For the last two years, the students, staff and parents of Mitchell Intermediate School have provided an opportunity for patients in our communities to have a fighting chance. We wouldn’t be able to do this without them.”
