The Rose Unveils 40 Ft. Mobile Health Coach in Fort Bend County Offering Advanced Care to Women in Need

Houston, TX (October 16, 2017) – Thousands of women across Texas delay or skip their breast cancer screening because of barriers such as distance and finances. Now they have an option plus the advantage of 3D Mammography Screening. The Rose introduces its new custom designed Mobile Mammography Health Coach to Texas in a five county, statewide tour.

In partnership with Randalls, the Fort Bend County ‘First Look’ and Launch will be held on Tuesday, October 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Randalls Pecan Grove (1890 FM Rd 359, Richmond, TX 77406). The community is invited to the ribbon cutting, tours and refreshments. The Rose will also be serving scheduled patients for their annual mammograms from noon-4pm and Randalls Pharmacy will provide flu, tetanus and other vaccinations on the Mobile Health Coach.

The Mobile Mammography Health Coach is a 40 ft. self-contained, luxury unit offering state-of- the-art 3D mammography imaging plus it has a separate suite that is fully equipped as a medical examination room. Expected to serve 4,000 women annually, the Coach will travel from urban to rural areas across the state of Texas. With telemedicine capability, diagnostic breast exams will also be offered in the near future.

“At The Rose, we know breast cancer is 98% curable when detected early and we believe all women should have access to 3D mammography. It is the most advanced tool in the detection of early stage breast cancer,” said Dorothy Gibbons, CEO and Co-Founder of The Rose. “Our Mobile Mammography Health Coach is a dynamic solution to the problem of access many women in Texas face, but it is even more powerful because it enables these same women to receive other health services.”

She explained: “While our services will be available to both insured and uninsured, our mission’s focus is on access to care for all. We hope to address the alarming statistic that 68% of uninsured women do not receive regular breast health screening which results in late stage cancer and a higher mortality rate.”

The Coach is ideal for businesses, school districts, civic centers, community clinics and physician offices and offers convenience and tangible benefits beyond on-site screening. Working with collaborating partners, other vital health screenings, from diabetes screenings, to well woman exams, to vaccinations to non-emergency primary care will also be provided.

Gibbons added that partners are required to provide services to all—insured and uninsured—and demonstrate they have the ability to provide a continuum of care. “Our Patient Navigators ensure timely treatment for the uninsured woman who is diagnosed, giving her the same chance at survival as the insured. We expect our partners to follow their patients as closely,” she said.
