Nick Escobedo and Saul Valentin Assume Board Positions at The Rose

Houston, TX [September 23, 2022] –The Rose, which has delivered premier breast healthcare services to women and men since 1986, is excited to welcome two active and community-focused leaders to its board: Nick Escobedo and Saul Valentin. CEO and co-founder Dorothy Gibbons says, “Both Nick and Saul are passionate about advocating for others. We are thrilled they are joining the board to share their commitment to service with The Rose and its community.”

Nick Escobedo is the Associate Chief Nursing Officer at Houston Methodist Hospital. He has a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Executive Leadership from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He was introduced to The Rose early in his nursing career and says, “Experienced nurses and physicians taught me the importance of access to care and often referred patients in need of quality breast services to The Rose.” He adds, “I am willing to learn and provide insight into how The Rose can adapt to challenges faced by health institutions. I am excited to champion the needs of comprehensive breast health care for all those in need.”

Saul Valentin is Chief Executive Manager and co-founder of Collaborate, a commercial architectural and development firm. Valentin has served on the board of several Houston nonprofits, including the Texas Associates of Businesses, Talento Bilingue de Houston, Houston Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Board, and the Institute of Hispanic Culture. He says, “This is my first opportunity to be involved with a healthcare-focused organization. I am committed to The Rose’s mission and the patients it serves, and I am excited to learn and share my experience and to bring a community connection with Hispanic leadership of Greater Houston.”

In addition to the appointment of two board members, The Rose warmly welcomes Chantel Williams, a new volunteer who is participating in board activities through The Rose’s partnership with the Junior League of Houston. Williams graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing.
