The Rose Awarded Funds from the Montgomery County Community Foundation

HOUSTON, TX (January 31, 2024) – The Rose was recently awarded a grant from the Montgomery County Community Foundation (MCCF) for $5,200. The MCCF funding will support The Rose’s commitment to providing screenings and diagnostic services for Montgomery County patients during the fiscal year 2024, including access to treatment for the uninsured. The Rose will use the funds to cover the cost of providing care to uninsured women in the Empower Her® Sponsorship Program. MCCF has partnered with The Rose since 2018.

“This generous grant from MCCF directly impacts The Rose in its mission to make breast health services more accessible to women, especially in Montgomery County,” said Dorothy Gibbons, CEO and co-founder of The Rose. “Our ongoing partnership with MCCF has enabled The Rose to screen dozens of patients for breast cancer. The funds we receive will make a tangible difference in the lives of these women.”

As a custodian of charitable legacy gifts, MCCF receives and manages contributions to support Montgomery County’s needs. Currently, MCCF administers over $11 million in 67 endowment funds contributed or bequeathed by individuals, foundations, and other sources. Through the income generated from these funds, MCCF is able to make impactful grants and scholarships totaling $3.13 million to date. These grants and scholarships support many nonprofits, local students, and long-term disaster recovery grants for residents.
