Breast Cancer Awareness Month BCAM 2023 TITLE

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month underscores a pivotal message: Self-care isn’t selfish, it’s essential. Every woman’s health journey matters. Remember, scheduling your annual mammogram isn’t just routine—it’s a proactive step towards well-being.

While the hustle and bustle of life often pushes self-care to the sidelines, this month serves as a reminder that prioritizing oneself isn’t a mere luxury. It’s a crucial commitment to health and longevity. Scheduling your mammogram is a vital step in that journey.

Fundraising and Event Resources

Each year, more than 300 schools, organizations, and businesses support The Rose by partnering as a third-party fundraiser. The generous donations we receive from community leaders like you help ensure that The Rose can continue to provide quality breast health care regardless of a patient’s financial circumstances. Third-party fundraising is fundraising brought upon a grander scale and come in many different styles and sizes. Fundraising is an excellent opportunity to get involved within the community.

We look forward to working with each of you in our shared goal to save lives.

Natalie

Natalie, diagnosed with breast cancer at 59, faced uncertainty while out of work and uninsured. Discovering The Rose, a beacon of hope, she found a lifeline. Laura, her patient navigator, became her rock throughout her cancer journey, from chemotherapy to surgery and radiation. With The Rose’s help, Natalie learned that breast cancer wasn’t a death sentence.

As she approaches the end of her journey, Natalie’s heart brims with gratitude and love for The Rose’s exceptional commitment to all women.

Juana

At 44, Juanita was diagnosed with breast cancer and feared the medical costs as a single, uninsured mother. The Rose stepped in, covering her expenses and letting her focus on healing. The hardest part of her journey was telling her college-bound daughter, Tracy. As Tracy graduated from Northwood University, a triumphant Juanita was there to celebrate, embodying resilience.

Today, inspired by The Rose’s support, Juanita is committed to helping others navigate their cancer journeys, recognizing the strength within her story.

Ashma

When Dr. Dixie revealed the cancer diagnosis to board member, Ashma, it prompted heartfelt family discussions about treatment pathways. After much reflection and research, Ashma decided on a bilateral mastectomy. The aftermath of her extensive surgery was emotionally charged, seeing her family’s concern and facing her own physical scars, but Ashma displayed immense resilience, choosing hope over despair and is now cancer free.

She now passionately champions breast health awareness in her community.
