The Rose Announces Ronnie Hagerty of United Way of Greater Houston as Newest Board Member

Houston, TX, December X, 2016 – The Rose, the leading breast health care nonprofit in Southeast Texas, welcomed their newest board member, Vice President of Community Relations for the United Way of Greater Houston, Ronnie Hagerty. Hagerty is recognized for her contributions to Houston’s thriving nonprofit and business sector. She is currently an advisor for the Best Boards, the Nonprofit Leadership Collaborative and the Conference of Southwest Foundation’s Grantor Grantee Dialogue; and serves with local organizations such as Women in Philanthropy, and The Junior League of Houston, Inc.

“One of the reasons I joined the board at The Rose is because for 30 years, they have provided a way to mitigate the impact of breast cancer, particularly for women in need,” said Hagerty. “The Rose is about truly caring for others; not just being a provider of care. As a new board member, I look forward to discovering how I can best contribute to that effort.”

Prior to her transition into the nonprofit sector, Hagerty worked as a consultant for advertising firms in New York and Houston. Presently, Hagerty is a lecturer at the Bush School of Government and Public Service, Texas A & M University, and an adjunct professor at the Jones Graduate School of Business, Rice University. Hagerty’s notable work includes her appointment by the Governor of Texas to serve as board chair for the OneStar National Service Commission.

Ronnie Hagerty holds a B.A. in Journalism from St. Mary’s College/Notre Dame; an M.B.A from the University of Houston Graduate School of Business; a doctoral degree from Antioch University; and is credentialed as a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).
